Facebook Fraud Alert
BE CAREFUL of emails that you open with friend requests.
These hackers prey on people who impulsively click on familiar looking links in emails without first checking destinations.
It is entirely possible that the destination address can download a rogue file onto your computer and track secure and personal information but do not yet have exact evidence on what damage a link such as this is causing. We will update this post when more information is found.
HOW DO YOU CONFIRM THAT A FRIEND REQUEST IS REAL?
If you hold your mouse over a hyperlink 99% of the time a link will appear such as you see in the photograph below.
A Facebook link is going to have the facebook.com URL in it. This particular address these guys are using is a .ru address (financeweb.ru). This leads into another level of the fraud scheme and more information about how this URL was hacked to send out such messages can occur.
